Correct fit

It is very important when planting coral begonias to choose the right growing container. For a number of properties, the best solution can be a clay pot - durable, without chemical impurities, slowly heating up.

Drainage is laid at the bottom - ordinary pebbles or expanded clay. Soil is poured over it. It is worth giving preference to a light, well water and air permeable nutrient mixture. In most specialty stores, you can find soil mixtures made specifically for begonias. If it is not possible to buy ready-made soil, you can take the usual one. But in order to make it looser, add a little perlite or vermiculite - the air will flow better to the roots, and the water will not stagnate.

Make a small depression in the soil of the prepared pot, and carefully plant the sprout. Water the soil immediately with abundant water so that the cutting hardens quickly. You can buy a seedling in many stores or just take it from friends.Begonia seedlings

Briefly about leaving

When growing begonias, it is very important to properly water the plant. In summer, watering should be regular and abundant - the plant has massive, fleshy leaves that quickly lose moisture. The slightest drought can destroy a flower.

In winter, watering should be much more moderate, especially if the room is not too hot and the flowerpot is far from the heating radiators - excess moisture can destroy begonia, leading to decay of the roots.

The optimum temperature is from +18 to +24 degrees Celsius - cooling has a detrimental effect on the tropical beauty.

Don't forget about lighting. Begonia is very fond of intense light, but in summer it should be left on the window only in the morning and in the evening - direct sunlight can harm the leaves. In winter, if there is no blowing from the window, the flower can stand on the window around the clock.
