Safe biofungicide phytosporin-M for plant protection

In the struggle for high yields, gardeners have to regularly use various drugs that allow plants to resist viral, fungal and bacterial infections. Among the most effective antifungal agents used in domestic plant growing, Fitosporin-M can be distinguished - an environmentally friendly new generation drug that has received well-deserved recognition from all adherents of organic farming.
Description and main characteristics

It's no secret that uncontrolled use mineral fertilizers and chemicals destroyed vast areas of fertile land. That is why recently there are more and more supporters of organic farming, whose efforts are aimed at the correct use of natural processes. Fitosporin allows the gardener to completely abandon the use of chemicals.
What is phytosporin for plants? The drug is a universal biofungicide with prolonged action, intended for the prevention and control of fungal and bacterial diseases of vegetable crops, fruit and berry and decorative leafy plants. The basis of the drug is Bacillus subtilis 26 D - live bacteria, which in the course of their vital activity produce natural fungicides that suppress the possibility of reproduction of pathogens of the most common fungal infections and microorganisms.
There are several modifications of this biofungicide:
- "Fitosporin" for vegetable crops.
- "Fitosporin-M", a universal product used for the treatment of vegetables, fruit and ornamental plants.
- "Fitosporin-M Reanimator" is a concentrate containing the bacterial strain Bacillus subtilis 26 D, amino acids, natural antibiotics, a vitamin complex and enzymes necessary to combat pathogenic microflora. It is used as a restorative agent after severe bacterial and fungal infections, sunburn, frostbite and the consequences of waterlogging of all types of plants.
- Fitosporin-M for flowers.
- Fitosporin-M - storage.
Regardless of the purpose, each modification of the drug uses the same active substance. Only additives that help to strengthen the immune system, stimulate the growth of the culture, help live bacteria penetrate and spread through the vascular system of a certain type of plant are changing. Due to the versatility of the action, Fitosporin-M is the most demanded biofungicide among all the drug modifications.
On the agricultural market, the tool is presented in the form:
- powder;
- liquids;
- pasty substance.
The number of live bacteria in the powder is not less than 2 billion per 1 g of the substance. Packing in bags of 10 and 30 g. According to the manufacturer, the number of live microorganisms in 1 ml of an aqueous solution is at least 1 billion. The paste is packaged in individual bags of 200 g. Each gram contains about 100 million bacteria. The shelf life of phytosporin without losing its properties is 3-4 years.
Indications for use

Fitosporin-M is used to prevent and prevent a number of fungal and bacterial diseases of garden plants, among which the most common are:
- late blight;
- all forms of powdery mildew;
- scab;
- rusty lesions.
In addition, the drug is effective in the fight against almost all types of rot, tracheomycotic wilting, and monolithic burns. Depending on the degree of damage, the effectiveness of the use of biofungicide can reach 95%.
Fitosporin-M: instructions for proper use

Biological fungicide is used for:
- treatment of vegetables, fruit shrubs and trees, most varieties of indoor plants;
- prevention of infection with late blight, as well as other common fungal infections and pathogenic microorganisms;
- pre-planting soil preparation;
- spraying plants during the growing season;
- root watering cultures;
- soaking the seed stock and processing seedlings before planting in the ground.
Next, we will consider the rules for the use of biofungicide in more detail.
Liquid form

The ready-made solution is mainly intended for spraying vegetable and horticultural crops, processing seed material, tree seedlings, cuttings of fruit and ornamental shrubs. The liquid form of phytosporin is used in the fall to process fruits before sending them for long-term storage. Dosage: 0.5 ml of concentrated product per 0.2 l. water.
In rainy weather, spraying procedures are carried out once a week. In the absence of precipitation, the plants are recommended to be sprayed every 14 days.
Watering vegetables and indoor plants with biofungicide is done once a month. It is necessary to water the fruit trees and shrub plantations with the drug every 15 days.
Fitosporin-M powder

The table will help to understand the purpose and method of application of powder biofungicide.
Appointment | Dosage | Consumption (note) |
Treatment of tubers and bulbs of plants before planting in the soil | 10 grams per 0.5 l. water | 20 kg of planting material. |
Pre-planting seed disinfection. | 1.5 g / 0.1 l. water | The process takes 60-120 minutes. until the moment of landing. |
Preventive soaking of the roots of young seedlings | 10 g / 5 l. water | The processing time is about 120 minutes. |
Treatment and prevention of potato diseases | 10 g / 5 l. liquids | Spraying at the time of active growth every 10 days |
Soil treatment with phytosporin in the fall is carried out to destroy fungal spores. After harvesting potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplants, it is necessary to add a solution of the drug to the soil at the rate of 5 g / 10 l of settled water. Average consumption of the composition: 10 liters. solution is enough for disinfection 5 m2 soil.
The fungicide must penetrate into the soil to a depth of at least 10 cm. It is at this depth that fungal spores successfully "winter".

Experts recommend preparing a concentrate from the paste, and diluting it to the required dosage immediately before use. How to dilute phytosporin paste to obtain a concentrate? It's simple: 1 part of a pasty preparation must be diluted in 2 parts of water.
Depending on the purpose, the resulting concentrate should be diluted in the following proportions:
- To process the crop before storage, you need 3 tbsp. Dilute spoons of concentrate in 0.2 ml. clean, non-chlorinated water.
- Disinfection of seed material. 2-3 drops of concentrate per 0.07 - 0.1 l. water. The effectiveness of this process is achieved in 60 - 120 minutes.
- For pre-planting seedlings preparation. Dose: 4 drops of concentrate per 200 ml. separated water.
- Preventive spraying and watering of seedlings of vegetable crops, trees and shrubs. Dosage: 3 tsp. concentrate for 10 liters of purified water.
- For root watering of indoor plants, it is necessary to dilute 15 drops of concentrate in 1 liter. water.
Fitosporin is compatible with most insecticides, growth regulators and antibiotics. An overdose of phytosporin, as a rule, does not harm the plant, however, at a high concentration of the drug, a decrease in its effectiveness may be observed.
