Making aquarium incubators for caviar
You can make an incubator for caviar yourself. These constructions are used for breeding fry of aquarium fish. Without these incubators, the fish will eat all the eggs and fry. The cost of a factory aquarium incubator is very high.
This device consists of:
- from the container in which the caviar is located;
- compressor;
- the tube through which the hatched fry enter the aquarium.
Since the compressor is installed in most aquariums, you can save money and use a homemade incubator design.
How to make a plastic bottle caviar incubator
In order to assemble a homemade incubator design, you will need two plastic bottles. Their volume can be anything, it depends on the size of the aquarium and the number of eggs.
Be sure to remove the labels from the bottles. The bottles are cleaned of glue with acetone and washed well.
After removing the glue, the bottles are cut into two parts. For the incubator, use only the tops of necked bottles. A hole is drilled in one of the covers. It can be cut with a sharp clerical knife.
Then the bottle caps are unscrewed, and a fine mesh is placed in the necks. You can use a piece of old tulle or material from an aquarium net as a net. The caps are screwed back.
Next, the bottles are connected to each other with a wide side and secured with tape. Incubator fixed with a suction cup on the inside of the aquarium. In a homemade caviar incubator, a dropper needle with a tube is installed, which is connected to a compressor.
The principle of operation of a homemade incubator for caviar
With the help of a compressor, the incubator is filled with water, which will be constantly renewed. The eggs are harvested by hand with a "pear" and placed in an incubator. Because of the net, adult fish cannot swim into the container with caviar. Since the bottles are transparent, you can observe the development of caviar.
When the fry hatch, you will need to empty the incubator by hand. A partition can be installed inside the plastic bottles. Thus, you get two compartments, the bottom of which is used for the development of eggs, and the second for the growth of fry.
With a homemade caviar incubator, you can breed aquarium fish.
