To increase the egg production of chickens in winter, special feed is needed
The number of eggs depends on the breed and conditions of the poultry. In order for chickens to have high egg production in winter, it is necessary:
- give them the right food;
- provide good ventilation in the chicken coop;
- regularly change the water in the drinkers.
In the room where the laying hens are kept, there should be no drafts, the temperature in the hen house should not fall below +8 ° С.
Warm mats can be used to keep the entire coop warm, but the water in the drinkers will freeze. In this case, the chickens need to be given snow.
In addition to the main food base, you need to use food additives for the formation of an egg shell, for example, shell rock.
Compilation of the main food supply
In order to formulate a complete feed, you must use at least five components. The composition of the feed for laying hens includes:
- barley;
- oats;
- wheat;
- sunflower cake;
- wheat bran;
- wheat malt.
Oats must be given to the bird. By consuming grain, chickens will hatch eggs well. The brood of chickens will increase, the offspring will be strong, and their immunity will be strong. Barley contains a large amount of substances that are necessary for the formation of egg white.
Wheat is the basis compound feed... It is necessary for the chicken to gain weight. Sunflower meal contains about 20% vegetable oil.
Wheat bran contains fiber, which is essential for good food digestion. Malt is used as a vitamin supplement to increase egg production.
Preparation of vitamin supplements
To increase egg production and the size of chicken eggs, chickens need to be given vitamin supplements. For their preparation, 100 g of yeast are dissolved in 10 liters of water. The mixture is left for two hours, and then the bran is added to the yeast to make a viscous porridge.
This "dough" should be infused for one hour. Then the vitamin supplement is given to the laying hens. This procedure is repeated every two weeks.
Chickens use a lot of energy and vitamins to form eggs. To replenish them in 10 liters of drinking water for chickens, it is necessary to dissolve two tablets of the drug "UNDEVIT". Chickens are given vitamins once every two weeks.
These two vitamin supplements can be alternated with green food, which is harvested in summer. It is frozen in the freezer and given to chickens throughout the winter. Mustard or nettle leaves are used as green food.
