Ezhemalina, planting and care in the suburbs for which they have their own characteristics - a popular culture. From blackberries, the hybrid received increased fruit sizes and sourness, which prevails over sugar content. And thanks to raspberries, the new plant has increased frost resistance. The most abundant and largest yields can be taken when growing zemalins in the southern regions. However, even in colder climates, it grows well and bears fruit if certain rules are followed.
Ezhemalina - landing and care in the suburbs
When is it better to plant
Like all berry bushes, ezhemalina can be planted both in spring and autumn. But, given the task at hand, it is still better to plant seedlings in the Moscow region in the spring. With an autumn planting, it can be difficult to have time to carry it out on time. A sharp cold snap and the first frosts may not leave young plants time for rooting.
As for the landing site, the rules do not change here. Ezhemalina loves the sun and only in a well-lit area will delight you with an abundance of large berries.
Most of the hybrid varieties build up weaving shoots. Therefore, it is convenient to grow them on a small trellis when planting in rows. In this case, at least 1 m should be left between the bushes, and up to 2 m between the rows.
Care features
The hybrid does not differ in development from its parents. Caring for him consists of familiar and simple activities:
- In hot and dry summers, especially when the berries are ripe, the bushes need to be watered regularly. If summer pampers with precipitation, ezhemalina will grow without watering. She has no special requirements for watering, like raspberries.
- The first two years, young seedlings do not need feeding. This is provided that humus was added to the holes during planting. From the third year of life, manure and potassium-phosphorus fertilizers should be applied under the ezemalin.
- In spring and autumn, it is necessary to carry out sanitary pruning of the berry with the removal of diseased, dry and broken shoots. And in spring, to increase productivity, pinch the tops of the remaining stems.
- It is advisable to grow ezemalina on trellis, tying up the growing lashes. This will give all the berries enough light and ripen more evenly.
And the main characteristic difference between planting ezhemalina in the Moscow region is its wintering. In the fall, before frost, the stems should be removed from the trellis and covered. This is the only way to keep flower buds from freezing. Without shelter, the yogurt will survive, and may even bloom, but it will not give an ovary.
