Where does the Venus flytrap grow - a predator among plants
Recently, it has become very popular to grow not just exotic plants, but carnivorous ones, for example, dionea. Do you know where the Venus flytrap grows? Despite the fact that it needs live insects, it is unlikely that it will be possible to see the culture in the open field. This is all due to the exactingness of the conditions of detention and microclimate. What is this predator and where does it live?
Where does the Venus flytrap grow
Given that the plant is massively harvested for trade, the flycatcher is officially recognized as an endangered species. The International Union for Conservation of Nature even listed it in the Red Book.
In our area, in the open field, Dionea cannot survive. Firstly, it needs a special, acidic soil, and constant moisture. Secondly, for the winter the bush hibernates and rests for three months in the cool (not higher than 10 °, but not lower than 0 ° heat). Russian frosts will simply destroy the flycatcher. But in indoor conditions, with proper care, the plant feels quite well.
What types of flycatchers can grow in the house
More than 20 plant varieties are adapted to grow as a pot culture. Among them, the most common are such flycatchers:
- Bristly with sparse short teeth and bright color.
- Fondue with different types of traps, most of which do not have a blade.
- Long red fingers with scarlet traps and frequent teeth, sometimes fused.
- Mouth with triangular teeth.
- Low Giant with the largest traps.
- Red dragon with burgundy traps.
