Cooking delicious onion pancakes at home for the whole family
Onion pancakes are a delicious dish that can be prepared for casual and festive meals using the available ingredients. In order for them to be really tasty, you need to follow the recipe and not skimp on products.
Onion pancakes with kefir
The following ingredients must be prepared:
- onions - two small onions;
- chicken eggs - two;
- kefir - 400 ml;
- flour - two glasses;
- soda - five grams;
- citric acid - 2 g;
- salt - 8 g.
For frying, you need to use sunflower oil. The first step in making kefir onion pancakes is to add eggs, salt and sugar to one bowl. Beat them until fluffy foam is obtained, then heat the kefir a little and pour it into the egg mixture.
You can beat the composition manually, but it is better to use a mixer for this. This will make the foam much more fluffy.
Further it is necessary:
- Cut the onion into small squares, place in a blender and chop until puree. After that, combine it with liquid products.
- Mix the composition thoroughly, add flour to it. Then gradually add soda and citric acid. The result should be a dough that won't flow. Leave it to swell for about five to seven minutes. You can use the mass after air bubbles begin to appear on it.
- Pour the oil into the pan - it should completely cover the bottom. Pancakes must be fried under a lid, over low heat. They are fried on both sides so that a golden crust forms.
After preparing the onion pancakes according to the recipe, it is recommended to put them on a napkin. It will absorb all the excess oil. You can serve the treat with any sauce you like.
Recipe for onion pancakes with carrot sauce
This dish will be even more interesting by adding a bright sauce that perfectly complements the taste of the pancakes themselves.
In order to prepare them, use:
- two onions - about 300 g;
- two or three eggs;
- one and a half glasses of flour;
- salt and sunflower oil.
Products for carrot sauce must be prepared separately:
- two-three carrots - from 600 g;
- 200 ml of tomato juice or paste;
- salt, sugar, cinnamon and other spices to taste.
The process of preparing onion pancakes with carrot sauce is as follows:
- The onion is cut into thin half rings. Put it in a separate bowl, where salt and eggs are added. The existing ingredients must be mixed so that the whole onion is completely covered with the egg mixture.
- Gradually add flour. The whole composition is stirred long enough - so that a homogeneous mixture is obtained, without lumps. Otherwise, the pancakes will turn out to be tasteless, interspersed with flour.
- Fry the pancakes on both sides over medium heat. It is recommended to do this under the lid so that a golden brown crust forms.
To prepare the sauce, carrots are grated (large division) and fried until soft. Then add tomato paste or juice, stew further. The result should be a fairly thick mass.
Salt the composition, add your favorite spices, a little sugar to it. The sauce should be infused a little, after which pour onion pancakes on top.
You can improve the recipe by adding additional ingredients to the carrots, for example, some beets or turnips.

How to make scallion pancakes

- 150-250 g green onions;
- two medium chicken eggs;
- two tbsp. l. semolina or flour;
- 1 tsp Sahara;
- a little salt to taste;
- sunflower oil.
Prepare green onion pancakes as follows:
- The entire amount of green onions is washed and dried. Then it is cut into small pieces.
- Chicken eggs and seasonings are added to the mass in small portions. Then flour and semolina are gradually introduced. The resulting composition must be thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
- At the same time, you need to heat the sunflower oil in a skillet. Spread the pancakes with a spoon in a frying pan and crush a little to make them flatter. Fry them over medium or low heat, always on each side.
It is advisable to fry the pancakes in a pan with a tightly closed lid. Thanks to this, the green onions will steam well inside and become very soft.
It is advisable to add a few tablespoons of fatty sour cream to the dough so that the pancakes are softer.
