The "Regent" preparation is the salvation of plants and houses from insect pests

"Regent" is a German-made drug against various types of insects. It has a contact-intestinal action. Blocks the conduction of nerve impulses of cell membranes. Used at home and at dachas. The product is highly toxic, so care must be taken. Before use, you must carefully read the instructions.

"Regent" is fipronil

The main active ingredient is fipronil. Additional agents (with disinsection properties) are chlorophos and permethrin. Of course, in the liquid form of the drug, water becomes another substance. Fipronil powder has the appearance of colorless crystalline granules with a moldy odor.

The molecule does not break down at room temperature, but begins to decompose under sunlight. It remains stable in neutral or slightly acidic environments. In an alkaline environment, it begins to break down.

Release form

The "Regent" preparation is produced in the form of an emulsion and in dry granules.

The liquid form ("Regent, EC") is bottled in ampoules of 1.5 and 5 ml or in sealed bags. This type is rare. The concentration of the active substance in the emulsion is 2.5%.

Dry matter ("Regent, VDG") is available in several packages:

• bags of 20, 50 or 100 milligrams;
• plastic opaque bottles of 0.1 or 1 kg.

In granules or powder, the concentration of the active substance reaches 80%.

"Regent" is a product that only works in liquid form. Therefore, a solution is first prepared.

Principle of operation

The main active ingredient is fipronil. The compound blocks the functioning of gamma-aminobutyric acid and the conduction of impulses in the membranes of nerve cells. As a result, the entire muscular system is paralyzed and the insect dies. Acts on all types of pests: ants, bears, bedbugs, Colorado beetles, fleas.

The substance enters the insect organism by two methods:

1. Through the intestines when eaten. In this case, the insect dies within an hour.
2. Through the chitinous cover. In this case, the insect lives longer, but it manages to bring the drug on itself directly into the nest.

Usually, both methods of poisoning are combined at once. You can expect that after 3-5 hours the insects will stop feeding, and in a day they will all be dead. The drug acts only on larvae and adults, but does not destroy eggs. Therefore, after the first treatment, it is recommended to do a second pest control after 2-3 weeks in order to kill the second generation.

Advantages and disadvantages

The drug has quite a few advantages:

• the product smells pretty good for insects;
• the substance quickly begins to act;
• the drug works at any temperature;
• kills even those insects that have acquired resistance to other drugs;
• it's easy to use;
• it is used sparingly;
• acts on all types of insects;
• does not destroy plants;
• chemically neutral.

However, there are also some disadvantages:

• the substance has a moldy smell, which is unpleasant for humans;
• the tool kills not only harmful, but also beneficial insects;
• it is also toxic to mammals (domestic animals and humans);
• over time, insects develop resistance to the substance.Therefore, it must be alternated with other drugs.

Solution preparation

Each package has a different amount of the drug and a different concentration of the substance. For example, for the destruction of the Colorado potato beetle, the package "Regent 800" (concentration 80%) of 500 milligrams is dissolved in 20 liters of water. And the product in packages of 12.8 ml in the form of an emulsion (with a concentration of 2.5%) is diluted in 8-9 liters. Therefore, in each case, you need to look at the ratio separately.

In general, we can say that 0.5 g or 0.5 ml of the active substance is enough for 10-20 liters of water.

In addition, the concentrations for Colorado potato beetle and other types of insects. To destroy household pests (cockroaches, bedbugs, ants), the same package of "Regent 800" is diluted in 200-250 milliliters of water. This difference in concentration is due to the fact that the agent was originally developed as an insecticide against Colorado beetles, but later it was used against all pests.

Application

The drug is used only in liquid form. The dry powder must be first dissolved in water. The substance is applied using a spray bottle. Please note that the powder does not dissolve well - about 2 mg of active substance requires about a liter of water, so do not want liquid. Only fresh solution is suitable for use.

In room

According to the instructions of the insecticide "Regent" for proper processing it is necessary:

1. Do a general cleaning.
2. Seal all utensils, hygiene products (toothbrushes, etc.), personal belongings and food in bags. You can simply take them out of the treated apartment.
3. Using a spray gun, it is necessary to thoroughly spray the entire room, not missing the space under the bathroom, cracks in the boards, the gap between the wall and the laminate, the baseboard. For processing fabrics and carpets, you need 2-3 times more funds. Mattresses in beds must be processed from all sides.
4. After processing, you cannot enter the room for about an hour.
5. Next, you will need to ventilate the apartment.
6. Then you need to wipe all surfaces with which people will come into contact with a saline solution.

Location on

Most often "Regent" is used in agriculture. Usually used to kill insects from the order Coleoptera and Orthoptera. Typical targets for the remedy are ants, bear, Colorado potato beetle, locust, grain ground beetle and others.

The product tolerates rain, frost, heat and bad weather well. However, it degrades faster from UV light, so it is advisable to spray the solution in cloudy weather, in the evening. After the first treatment, you will need to do the second after 2 weeks in order to destroy the larvae hatched from the eggs.

Dosage

To destroy agricultural pests, you need to follow the instructions for using the "Regent":

1. Colorado potato beetle (potatoes during the growing season). To prepare the mixture, it is necessary to dilute 5 grams of the substance in a liter. 4 liters are consumed per hectare.
2. Bread beetle (wheat during germination). To create a poison, you need to dilute 30 grams of the active substance in a liter. Consumption is about 2 liters per hectare.
3. The bug is a harmful bug (wheat in milk ripeness). To form a mixture, it is necessary to dilute 8 grams of active ingredient in a liter. The consumption of the prepared preparation is 4 liters per hectare.
4. Piyavitsa (wheat, barley during the growing season). To create a mixture, add 10 grams of poison per liter. For processing, it is enough to spray 2-4 liters per hectare.

Safety engineering

The product belongs to the 2nd class of toxicity. This means that although you can buy it in the public domain, you need to be as careful with it as possible, read the instructions for use from the "Regent" preparation. Do not use food utensils to prepare the solution. When spraying the drug, you must use personal protective equipment: gloves, respirator, protective clothing. In the process, you can not eat, drink, smoke.After work, you need to thoroughly wash your face, hands, rinse your mouth.

The product is specially packaged in opaque containers, since the "Regent" must be protected from light.

The product is stored at room temperature away from light, separately from food and medicines. "Regent" is a rather dangerous drug, therefore it must be protected from children. Do not mix the product with other insecticides.
