How to equip a campfire site in the country - we rest beautifully, conveniently and safely
On a cool summer night or in the off-season, it is so pleasant to sit by the enticing fire. If you also like to relax by the fire, and even more so, to cook on it, it will not hurt to get a stationary platform. In this case, it is worth considering two things: how to equip a place for a fire in the country and how to make it not only convenient, but also safe.
Safety rules for a summer cottage
- the nearest building must be at least 3 m;
- garden and shrubs - 4 m.
It is forbidden to arrange a fireplace on the border of sites, streets, as well as near the fence. Ideally, if the fire will be lit in the middle of the site. The place should be blown by the wind, because traction is needed for combustion. It is advisable to choose it away from home so that the smoke does not annoy.
Preparing the base for the fireplace
We are not talking about portable barbecues, but a stationary fire that will last for many years. Its shape can be different, square or round, but the base will have to be taken care of in advance. It is possible to put such a structure simply on the ground only if you have dense soil (sandy). The clay soil and black soil will simply float in a couple of years and the fire pit will spread. It is desirable to strengthen such places:
- remove the top layer;
- align and tamp the bed;
- cover with dense geotextile;
- cover with a layer of crushed granite.
Now you can install a hearth on a solid pillow or additionally fill it with concrete. What to build a stationary fireplace from depends only on the desire. This can be brick, stone, paving slabs, concrete blocks, and even a washing machine tank or car drive.
How to equip a campfire site in the country
The site for the hearth is ready, now it remains to think about what can be organized for the convenience of its use. For example, fill the area around the hearth with concrete or tiles. So the lawn will not suffer, and it will be possible to barbecue immediately after the rain. Don't forget to take care of the "seating": chairs, plastic chairs, and just stumps are fine for this. It will not hurt to put a table nearby, as well woodsmanwhere the firewood will be stored. For gatherings in the evening, a street lamp will come in handy, and during the day the recreation area will be decorated with shrubs and flowers planted around.
