Rosara potato planting technology - instructions for the gardener
Despite such quality characteristics, this potato variety is not intended for long-term storage. In addition, Colorado beetles love to feast on the tops, so the plant has to be pickled.
Nevertheless, when planting and caring for potatoes, it is worth considering some recommendations:
- soil acidity - neutral or slightly acidic;
- temperature regime - above 12˚С;
- fertilizers - preference is given to potash compounds than nitrogen or phosphate;
- thickened plantings should be avoided;
- moderate humidity is permissible without stagnant water.
The soil for Rosar's potatoes is selected from sandy loam or loam. The predecessors of the crop should be: cabbage, cereals, legumes, beets, cucumbers, carrot or winter plants.
Site preparation is carried out in the fall. Wood ash, compost and rotted manure are added to the soil for digging. In the spring, 2 weeks before garden work, the land must be loosened.
Agrotechnics of growing potatoes Rosar:
- embedment depth - 8-10 cm;
- hole width - 35-40 cm;
- the interval between the bushes is 45-50 cm;
- row spacing - 70 cm.
To protect the landing from wireworm and other pests are used crops of beans, beans and mustard. These crops are planted as dividing lines.
Agronomists advise to form the beds correctly: from north to south. Then the culture will receive a sufficient amount of sunlight. However, it is worth remembering that nightshades do not tolerate droughts. On hot days, the planting must be watered, and during the flowering period it is fertilized with mineral complexes or a solution of liquid manure. As the bushes grow, the plants spud to open up access to oxygen for the roots.
Preparing Rosar's potatoes for planting
Germination is an important step in growing every crop. For this reason, when harvesting, the farmer selects large root crops without damage.
In the spring, he processes tubers:
- a weak solution of potassium permanganate;
- growth stimulants;
- photosporin;
- fungicide.
Next, the roots are laid out in a bright but cool place. Some store them in boxes or bags. As a result, the tubers acquire a greenish tint. After that, they are germinated in a dark and humid room. When the sprouts reach 3-4 cm, the potatoes are prepared for planting.
You need to plant potatoes when the top layer of the earth (8-10 cm) warms up to + 10˚С.
Dried tops are the first signs for harvesting. Then the roots are dug up and completely dried to increase their shelf life. It is worth noting that with the correct cultivation of Rosar's potatoes, excellent quality indicators can be obtained.
