Do-it-yourself pyramid flower bed: we make an original decoration of the site

Tell us how to make a pyramid flower bed with your own hands? I want to plant strawberries, but there is no free space in the garden, but there is a small empty corner in the yard. Since many beds will not fit there, I decided to grow berries in a multi-tiered flower bed. And if it works out, I'll make another one, especially for flowers.

Vertical flower beds are a great solution for small areas. They do not take up much space, while making it possible to plant more plants than in a conventional garden bed. A pyramid-flower bed with their own hands is made easily from improvised means, and even the fairer sex can assemble it. The material for the vertical beds will be handy tools, for example, boards left over after repairs or old tires.

Do-it-yourself pyramid flower bed from boards: step by step instructions

For the manufacture of the structure, you will need boards of different lengths. And no nails and screws - the flowerbed will be a team. The length of the boards depends on the desired pyramid size. In our case, the longest elements are 1.9 m. There should be 6 such boards. Four of them will form the lower tier, and two will form the side walls of the second tier. 2 more boards, a little shorter, are needed to complete the formation of the 2nd floor. A similar scheme will be for the subsequent tiers - there can be 3 or 4 of them, if desired.

Getting started:

1. We retreat from the edge of the board 5 cm and drill a groove. Its length should be at least 1/3 of the board's width.
2. We carry out the same operation on the back of the bar.
3. On the opposite side of the made groove, drill another one, stepping back from the first 20 cm.A board from the upper tier will enter into it.
4. On the remaining boards, we similarly make grooves for assembly.
5. We assemble the pyramid by joining the grooves.
6. We cover the wooden frame of the flower bed to extend its service life. The top can be painted.
7. We fill the flowerbed with nutritious soil.
8. We plant flowers. Convenient to grow in a pyramid and strawberries.

The advantage of such a wooden flower bed is that, if necessary, it can always be disassembled and moved.

There are two ways to make a flower bed:

• from tires of different sizes, laying them out in decreasing order;
• folding identical tires in a checkerboard pattern.

Pour nutritious soil inside the tires. To make the flower bed look elegant and colorful, we pre-paint the tires with different colors. All that remains is to plant flowers.
