Breeding mutees - when Indo-girls start to lay eggs
Breeding Indo-Ducks is a profitable and relatively easy task if you know and immediately provide what they need. This variety compares favorably with ordinary ducks: they are more hardy, calmer, and most importantly, they lay very useful eggs and become excellent mothers. Therefore, it is interesting for a novice poultry breeder to find out when Indo-ducks begin to lay eggs. Their egg production does not break special records, like that of laying hens. But duck eggs contain less cholesterol, making them healthier than chicken eggs.
But the most important thing is the duration of the genus. Indoor women are as responsible mothers as turkeys. They take good care of babies and can even hatch strangers. True, a problem may arise with the choice of the masonry site - these ducks have overestimated requirements. But let's talk about everything in order.
When Indo-Dogs Start Laying Eggs
Egg production of Indo-ducks is at the level of 100 eggs per year. At the same time, it goes through two stages with a break of 2-3 months, during which the bird molt. At the end of winter, adult ducks begin to rush. After about 5 months, they molt. And the next clutch of ducks is done only by autumn, laying eggs for another 3 months.
Young Indo-women in their first year of life will lay the first testicle only in the second period, in late autumn.
How to increase egg production
Of course, it is impossible to force Indo-women to carry twice as many eggs due to natural features. But it is quite possible to get a couple of dozen more, as well as speed up and slightly extend the laying season.
This requires:
- keep clean in poultry house - Mute are big clean and may not sit on a dirty nest;
- provide lighting, especially in the autumn-winter period;
- insulate the room so that in winter it is at least 19 ° C warm;
- give poultry cake and other useful additives.
If the above conditions are not met, the ducks will begin to lay later, and they do not sit well on eggs.
When Indo-girls sit on eggs
In this respect, mutees are very finicky. If they didn’t like the nest they had prepared, they won’t sit down. A house that is too cramped, in which the duck does not have the opportunity to retire, too noisy or frequent visits with inspection are reasons for refusing to hatch ducklings. And if the Indo-women nevertheless sit in a personally chosen place, then it is no longer possible to touch the hen, otherwise she will completely throw eggs.
The incubation period for Indo-women is up to 32 days. At this time, it is important not to disturb the hen, protecting her from the rest of the bird, and providing the female with water, food and herbs.
The highest percentage of ducklings hatching is in the spring-summer period, when the drake is at its peak of activity. Indo-ducks can sit on eggs in early autumn, but fertilization in this case is only 50%.
