When to collect snow - we harvest medicinal and edible weed
Mother nature is rich in gifts and each plant is unique. Here, for example, to sulk - many look at her and see a weed in front of them, but not simple, but very annoying. I just missed the moment, and a couple of bushes have already turned into almost impenetrable thickets, drowning out the cultivated beds. A shady wet area or a well-lit place - it is good to sleep everywhere, everywhere it grows quickly, reaching a height of 1 m.Do you know that this weed is a member of the umbrella family, smells good and has a piquant salty taste? That is why delicious vitamin salads and an interesting seasoning for many dishes are obtained from it. It is also good as a medicinal plant and copes well with many diseases. So do not rush to "drive" the grass from the site - it will still be useful to you. But keep in mind that the timing of the procurement of raw materials varies depending on the purpose of its use. In order to get really healing raw materials or tasty greens, it is important to know when to collect the snow.
Interestingly, the garden weed is often used not only for treatment and cooking, but also for decorative purposes. Especially popular is the variegated whitewash with marbled, white-green leaves. It is very beautiful, it can grow in the shade and on moist soils, besides, the lifespan of the curtains reaches 50 years.
Features and periods of collecting dream for medicinal purposes
For the preparation of medicinal infusions and decoctions, the leaves and roots of the dream are used. Depending on which part of the plant you need, the collection time falls on:
- The beginning of summer is for the leaves. It is at this time that the maximum concentration of nutrients is reached in them. In this case, it is important to have time to cut the foliage before flowering.
- The beginning of autumn is for the roots. Nutrients are transferred to them at the end of flowering.
When to Collect Snow White for Food Use?
The juiciest leaves of dreaming are the young ones that appear in the spring. It is then, in April-May, that it is better to pick them for salads or add to first courses. A little later, when the bushes begin to form shoots, it is time to harvest young petioles. Juicy, crunchy stems are also great in salads. They can also be pickled and added to side dishes. If you dry the cut leaves and grind them, you get a fragrant seasoning.
But after the inflorescences bloom, the plant part of the dream coarsens and loses its juiciness. But it doesn't matter: by mowing the plantings after the first harvest, after a while you will get young shoots again.
