Male flower anthurium - how to care for a capricious handsome man
Not every grower manages to "tame" this plant. To see chic and seemingly fake inflorescences, all its requirements should be carefully followed. The male anthurium flower has such a finicky character, it is important to know how to care for it for everyone who plans to buy a plant. If you do not adhere to these rules, the bush may grow. But neither a lush rosette, nor flowering will please. What does anthurium love and what exactly will not suit him?
Lighting and temperature
It only at first glance seems that the dense foliage and plastic flowers to the touch are not afraid of anything. They suffer greatly from sunburn, so southern windows in summer are taboo for anthurium. They are suitable only for the winter period, when the daylight hours are short and there is not enough natural light. In summer, it is better to keep the pot on the eastern windows with soft diffused light.
Whether the bush will bloom directly depends on compliance with the temperature regime:
- in spring and summer, anthurium is good in warmth even up to 30 ° C;
- in winter, the temperature should be about 15 ° C warm for the plant to form new flower buds.
If you do not provide the anthurium with a cool winter, then it is unlikely to bloom next year.
Another condition is high air humidity, especially in summer. The flowerpot itself can be placed on a saucer with damp pebbles. And periodically spray the bush, only avoiding flowers. Dark spots appear on them from drops of water.
Male flower anthurium - how to care
Anthurium needs a very loose fertile soil that will "breathe" and provide it with food. There will be no problems with this - special substrates are sold in every flower shop.
When caring for a flower, it is important to observe regularity and at the same time moderation:
- In the spring and summer, water the bush every 3 days. But make sure that excess moisture does not stagnate in the pan, otherwise the roots will begin to rot. In winter, in a cool room, one watering per week is enough.
- Spray the leaves frequently in the heat.
- Apply mineral fertilizing every two weeks from spring and all summer. This will prolong flowering and help the plant prepare for the next one.
- Young bushes should be annually transplantincreasing the pot. However, it shouldn't be too spacious. Anthurium blooms only in cramped dishes, after the roots have filled it. Adult specimens are transplanted after 3 years.
Anthurium does not need formative pruning. You just need to cut off the faded peduncles. The plant propagates by apical cuttings, stem processes on the roots and division of the bush.
