Knyazhiki - planting and care in the open field
Have clematis there are no petals at all. And what we used to call them is also sepals, only wider than those of the princes.
Choosing a place for the princes will not cause problems
Lianas are absolutely not demanding on lighting. Moreover, in the southern regions it is generally recommended to plant them from the north side in order to protect them from burns. Shrubs will grow well anywhere, the only thing that depends on their flowering. The more sun, the earlier it will start, but it will also end quickly. And the thicker the shadow, the fewer buds there will be, and they will open much later. But the flowering time will increase.
Perhaps the only requirement of the princes to the landing site will be soil moisture. Lianas absolutely do not tolerate wetlands and die there. The culture has no special conditions for the composition of the soil.
Caring for princes in the garden is simple and not burdensome
The most important part of growing a vine is to find a permanent place for it right away. Since the root system of the plant is fragile, it does not like transplanting and does not tolerate it well.
But the rooted princes will grow almost independently. All you need to do is:
- sometimes water the bushes;
- provide them with support;
- if necessary, direct the escape in the right direction or tie it up;
- it is advisable to apply mineral fertilizers at least twice a season (in spring and before flowering).
As already noted, the princes do not need shelter for the winter and can survive it on a support. There is no formative pruning as such either.Remove dry twigs in time, and once every 5-6 years, rejuvenate the bush by significantly shortening its shoots.
