Transplanting an old spathiphyllum - there is still gunpowder in the flasks

transplant of old spathiphyllum Dry and wrinkled foliage indicates that an emergency transplant of the old spathiphyllum is needed. Symptoms indicate that the plant is lacking in nutrients. During this long time, the soil is depleted. The stock of useful components evaporates, and the culture begins to eat up.

Transplanting an old spathiphyllum - first steps

The pot is watered abundantly in order to pull it out along with the earthen clod. If necessary, separate the soil from the pot with a knife, but only with the blunt side. Then shake off the remnants of the old substrate. Divide the bush into several seedlings. Leaves are removed at the root, which:

  • dried up;
  • turned yellow;
  • turned black;
  • decorated with strange spots.

The more carefully you cut everything, the healthier the old spathiphyllum will feel after transplantation. Next, the root system is trimmed, removing up to 0.5-1 cm. This alignment stimulates their growth, although not always. Before the procedure, be sure to disinfect the instruments.

The root neck of the culture does not need to be buried. It is enough to cover it by 1/3 or half. Otherwise, it will rot and the plant will not bloom.

Then the spathiphyllum needs to take a warm shower. Its foliage and roots are thoroughly washed so that they become snow-white. Then they examine the seedling, removing the decayed parts. Sick specimens are soaked in a solution against root rot ("Fitosporin") up to 30 minutes. Then a solution is prepared with a rooting agent and a growth stimulator by immersing the rhizome in it for half an hour.

Preparing the magic substrate

First, take a large container and wash it thoroughly. The drainage hole is closed with a shard from the shard so that it does not clog, but also allows water to pass through. Then it is filled with a 5-cm layer of expanded clay and covered with pieces of foam. Planting substrate is prepared in a separate bowl:

  • fall asleep up to half with universal soil, which should be slightly acidic;
  • knead the breasts;
  • add vermicompost or humus;
  • make planting material for orchids, it is advisable to choose large bark;
  • filled with perlite to loosen, and then vermiculite to maintain moisture;
  • sprinkle with several tablespoons of charcoal;
  • everything is carefully altered.

After planting, you will have to water the seedling in three passes. Therefore, a pallet is placed under it. As soon as the liquid drains, the next watering is carried out. As a result, the flowerpot is left for a week in a shaded place.

When filling the pot with soil mixture, pierce it with a stick or shake it. Then no air capsules will form. When the seedling has already been placed in a container, sprinkle it with the remaining earth. Then they try to gently tamp the material with a stick. When transplanting an old spathiphyllum, you do not need to press the soil hard. All he needs moderate watering. In conclusion, the bush is sprayed with a prepared solution of a rooting agent and a growth stimulator. This procedure is repeated after 7 days for 3 weeks. After the operation, this exhibit will still show what it is capable of. It will delight the owners with its lush flowering and foliage.
