Fertilizer "Baikal EM-1" - application for strawberries
Indeed, strawberries are one of the most popular berries grown in summer cottages and vegetable gardens. Ease of care combined with excellent taste make it very popular.
But it is worth considering - it drains the soil quite a lot. Therefore, experts generally do not recommend growing this berry in one place for more than five years. Yields will fall, and other crops grown in this area will not bear too abundant fruits. But special feeding can partially solve this problem. The main thing is to know exactly how to use the Baikal EM-1 fertilizer. Strawberry application must be correct and carefully calibrated.
How to prepare a working solution
In general, “Baikal EM-1” is not a fertilizer in the usual sense of the word. In fact, this is a set of microorganisms that can restore soil fertility, ensure the production of necessary elements and increase the yield. Therefore, the correct preparation of the working solution is especially important.
To do this, you need to take warm (about + 20 ... + 25 degrees Celsius), not chlorinated water. Any easily soluble sweetness is added to it - old jam, honey, sugar. The result is a breeding ground that is ideal for the growth of microorganisms. The optimal concentration of "Baikal EM-1" for watering strawberries is 1: 1000.
Therefore, 2 teaspoons of the concentrate is enough for 10 liters of culture medium. 10-12 hours after the application of the concentrate, the bacteria multiply enough for the solution to be used.
Correct application
Since "Baikal EM-1" is not an ordinary fertilizer, it can be applied several times per season. For the first time, it is recommended to do this in late spring. Both the strawberry bushes and the land you are going to plant with berries are watered. It is recommended to water the plot 3-5 times over the summer. It is advisable to do this after rain or abundant watering - bacteria will quickly die in dry soil.
